Accepting New Clients
Arissa Barton
MSW, CSW
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also a brave choice that opens the door to growth and healing. Whether you’re navigating life stressors, processing trauma, or looking for healthier ways forward, I offer support in a safe, virtual space where you can feel heard and understood.
My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration—helping you uncover your strengths and step into the best version of yourself.
I have experience working with a wide range of mental health challenges, including borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and trauma-related disorders.
I am trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and incorporate approaches such as CBT, DBT, and IFS to tailor therapy to your unique needs. Together, we’ll embrace change as an opportunity for healing and discovery.
My Story
One of my favorite quotes is by Ernest Hemingway: “Live the full life of the mind, exhilarated by new ideas, intoxicated by the romance of the unusual.” This perspective inspires the way I approach both life and therapy—encouraging openness, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace the beauty of change.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2024 and work with clients exclusively online. Outside of therapy, I enjoy rock climbing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. Service is also a deep passion of mine.
I volunteer as an International Coordinator for Tabarak Children’s Home in Mombasa, Kenya, and I founded the World of Opportunity Foundation to help expand opportunities in underserved communities. This same passion informs my work with clients: supporting you in discovering new possibilities within yourself and your life.
